The Hands that Feed Me / When I was carrying our first child, my sweetheart made every single meal during that 9 month stretch and plenty afterward... I enjoy cooking well enough and can whip up deliciousness when in the mood, but I don't come close to his culinary genius. He is the hands and heart behind Soul Flour Bakery (featuring a traveling old world wood-fired pizza oven, The Roaming Hearth, that was forged on the island). This is the way he generously helps to provide for & sustain our family and now he's digging in deeper. We recently leased a small garden and farm stand down the road from our home, located at the foot of Turtleback Mnt. We'll be growing organic heirloom veggies and selling his wholegrain baked goods. Come Spring, I'll be rambling through the garden and grounding out in this all too amazing of a scenario. But for now, I'm thankful for these newly sown seeds and the hands that hold them.
